Summary of Job Duties

The Project/Program Specialist will be responsible for budget, class scheduling, personnel, and support for the department of Curriculum and Instruction.

This position prepares and monitors the department’s State Maintenance budget, Program Income Budget for each new fiscal year, as well as the On, Off, and Summer School teaching budgets.

This position is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of the Curriculum and Instruction department’s approximately 250 classes (On and Off schedule) for all academic sessions. Ensures that all Graduate Faculty Status Applications are complete for faculty, lecturers and graduate assistants.

This position explains the department’s operations, policies, and procedures to administrative support and faculty and provides routine information to faculty, staff, and students, regarding university wide offices. This position assists the Administrative Support Supervisor with Travel and Purchasing when needed, and oversees completion of college required forms and reports.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least four or more years of experience in higher education

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least four years of extensive use and knowledge of the University BASIS system
  • Experience with the University of Arkansas systems: UAConnect system, Razorbuy, People Admin 7, course scheduling processes, and the R25 scheduling system
  • At least two years of experience working with departments across campus
  • At least two years of experience supervising and training office personnel
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures, particularly those applying to financial transactions and personnel is necessary
  • Excellent communication skills
