The David and Barbara Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History documents the history of Arkansas through the collection of spoken memories and visual records, preserves the collection in perpetuity, and connects Arkansans and the world to the archive. The Center’s motto is “Collect, Preserve, Connect.” The Center conducts interviews and records historical events statewide and also receives donated materials covering diverse topics.

Summary of Job Duties

The Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History is seeking potential interns with video production knowledge to assist in the processing of on-camera interviews to be posted to the Center’s website.

The intern(s) will benefit by gaining professional experience in video production, non-linear editing, shooting techniques, and lighting. The intern(s) will also gain a working knowledge of collecting oral and visual history, archiving, and transcription.

Minimum Qualifications: Please ensure that all relevant application materials include details addressing the minimum qualifications. Applicants not meeting the minimum qualifications will be disqualified from consideration.
  • Current student at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville campus
  • Basic production skills in the following areas:
    - Final Cut Pro editing
    - Field lighting
    - Use of production switcher
    - Use of audio board

Preferred Qualifications
  • Broadcast Journalism major
  • One year of related video production experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Ability to work on productions in the field which requires working with and lifting moderately heavy equipment
