About the College/Department

The Transit and Parking Department is responsible for the operation of Razorback Transit, a public mass transit system serving the University of Arkansas campus and about half the city of Fayetteville; the Safe Ride program, providing transportation for students after-hours; a Charter Bus Service for campus affiliates; the Razorbike program, a loaner bicycle program for students, staff and faculty; and the campus parking program, consisting of four parking garages and over 100 parking lots.

The mission of Razorback Charters is to provide clean, safe, reliable, and affordable transportation services to the students, faculty, staff, and official visitors of the University of Arkansas, realizing and implementing cost containment initiatives for the respective departments utilizing those services.

Summary of Job Duties

The Razorback Charters Bus Operator will safely and efficiently operate a 32 passenger University Charter Bus, transporting groups from their origin to their destination as instructed. This position will also be responsible for general custodial duties and performing a prescribed pre-operational safety maintenance check. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Please ensure that all relevant application materials include details addressing the minimum qualifications. Applicants not meeting the minimum qualifications will be disqualified from consideration.
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least one year of passenger bus driving experience
  • Current CDL class (B) or ©
  • Able to pass DOT Physical Requirement
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Pass DOT Pre-Employment Drug Screen
  • Clean Background Check
  • General Knowledge of Area
