Summary of Job Duties

The graphic design intern will interpret the Walton College brand strategy and mission: To advance and disseminate business knowledge using a diverse, inclusive, and global perspective and to encourage innovation in our primary strategic endeavors: Retail, Data Analytics, and Entrepreneurship.

The student will work closely with the assistant director of creative services and the communications team to create materials for all media platforms.

Intern will be responsible for:
- Designing basic marketing material: invitations, magazine layout, advertisements, postcards, etc.
- Keeping marketing project records including budget information
- Assisting with special mailings
- Assisting with special events
- Assisting with writing
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: Please ensure that all relevant application materials include details addressing the minimum qualifications. Applicants not meeting the minimum qualifications will be disqualified from consideration.
  • Working towards a degree in advertising, marketing or graphic design
  • Mac OS experience a must
  • Experience with prioritizing and maintaining a multi-project load

Preferred Qualifications
  • Sophomore standing is preferred
  • 1 year of print related experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) is required
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-page documents in InDesign required
  • Working knowledge of graphic design fundamentals/principles
  • Good writing, editing, and oral communication skills are a must
  • Ability to identify and interpret graphic design needs and develop creative and responsive design concepts
